I enjoyed reading your insights about business relations and relationship conflicts. I have come across so many throughout my times in corporate America. I was curious if you had any thoughts about women's struggles managing or supervising male employees and the obstacles that accompany such a dynamic. I think it would be interested to write about!

Regards,

My mom has ALWAYS told me the exact same. You get back whatever you put out.

As I've grown up, I've realized that when you do good things, good things come your way. I think with time -- what goes around DOES come around.

As much as I believe in maintaining good relations and trying to make every customer happy, I hate that the internet has given a voice to every crazed and angry customer (who is usually requesting something completely off the wall to begin with).

I knew a guy who had an e-commerce site and one very angry customer who had used an electronic item non-stop in a commercial location until it finally gave out a few months later. Although the manufacturer's warranty would have covered it, the customer flipped out when the store wouldn't replace it and proceeded to launch a smear campaign all over the web.

Eventually, despite the guy's best efforts, much of the bad stuff was showing up on the first page of organic search results for his company name and the conversion rate on traffic that came from brand searches started to decline. Just as your customers can be your biggest asset, and angry one (justified or not) can definitely put a dent in your wallet.

I do think that what goes around comes around, but like you said sometimes it does take years. You may not always be there to see it, but it does happen.
